Sr. Social Media Manager

WHO WE ARE

Standard Practice is an independent creative agency founded by five industry veterans with a shared belief in doing the hard, responsible work of creating ideas people actually care about.

WHAT WE DO IS NOTHING NEW

We listen and learn about our clients’ businesses. We generate powerful ideas for brands that feel true and we hold ourselves responsible to make work that actually works.

None of this is groundbreaking, but it’s really hard to do. And, around here, it’s Standard Practice.

We are small by design, collaborative by nature, and independent in both structure and spirit. Round tables beat rigid hierarchy every time, and good ideas can come from anyone. Everyone here is expected to contribute to the thinking, shape the work, and help build the kind of company they want to be part of.

This is a place where you can have real impact. To work on national brands across a range of categories, alongside talented people who care. Not a cog in a big machine – an opportunity to build something different.

THE ROLE

Modern brands are most often experienced in the social feed – the Sr. Social Media Manager shapes what that experience feels like.

This role sits at the intersection of content, craft, and judgment. It’s responsible for day-to-day social execution across channels – creating content, designing assets, and translating campaigns into social. You’ll also decide what’s worth making, how it comes to life, and how it all holds together over time. The output matters, but so does the thinking behind it.

You’re responsible for a steady stream of content – work that feels intentional, not just consistent. Clear ideas, strong execution, and a point of view that reflects the brand.

You’ll work closely with strategy and account teams, but the expectation is that you drive the work forward. Managing the calendar, spotting opportunities, and pushing for better where it counts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Set the direction for how the brand shows up across social – what it says, how it behaves, and how that evolves over time and across platforms.

  • Manage day-to-day publishing across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X, ensuring a consistent, high-quality presence across channels.

  • Maintain and shape the content calendar to include campaigns, events, seasonal and business needs.

  • Identify and act on timely moments where the brand has a reason to show up.

  • Work with a high level of responsiveness – turning around standard requests within a day or two, and moving more quickly when timing matters.

Content Creation

  • Create content across formats – graphics, carousels, short-form video, and static assets – with an emphasis on clarity, craft, and platform-native execution.

  • Write copy that’s specific to the channel and the brand, with a clear point of view.

  • Translate and adapt longer-form or campaign work into social content that works in-feed.

  • Maintain a steady volume of output across channels – typically 25-35 new content assets per month, expanded into a broader set of platform-ready executions.

  • Capture and edit light photo/video content as needed – typically 4-5 short-form videos per month.

Campaign Support

  • Translate broader campaigns into social – developing assets and content that extend ideas into the feed through organic and paid social.

  • Support launches, announcements, partnerships, and events with content that’s timely and aligned.

  • Work with client teams to gather inputs, approvals, and move the work forward.

Community Management

  • Monitor comments, messages, and engagement activity across channels.

  • Respond in a way that maintains the brand voice.

  • Recognize when something needs to be escalated and ensure it’s handled appropriately.

Reporting & Optimization

  • Track performance across channels, including engagement, reach, growth, and content-level performance.

  • Deliver monthly reporting that highlights what’s working, what’s not, and what should change.

  • Use performance data to refine content direction and improve output over time.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT.

People who do well at Standard Practice share a few traits:

You care about whether the work actually works. You believe creativity carries responsibility. It’s not about what you like, what you think the client will like, but about what their audience likes – and what will get them to engage with the brand and generate real outcomes.

You’re a collaborator at heart. You know a good idea can come from anywhere, so you always remain open – to sharing your ideas, helping to strengthen someone else’s, and being a great listener.

You’re comfortable building as you go. The clear path forward at Standard Practice isn’t laid out for anyone – it requires flexibility, ownership, and a “let’s figure this out together” attitude. You don’t wait for things to be perfect. You help intuit and create what’s needed.

You value clarity over complexity. The best ideas are often the simplest ones. You know how to get there through clear thinking, exceptional craft, and hard-working execution.

You leave your ego at the door. Sometimes the job is big creative thinking, sometimes it’s fixing a deck at the last minute. You’re good with both because the work matters more than anything else.

EXPERIENCE WE’RE SEEKING

  • Strong writing instincts – you understand how tone shifts by platform and brand
